Ambulatory Surgical Centers Save Medicare Billions of Dollars
On April 17, 2014, the Office of the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a report that showed the cost-effectiveness of ASCs.
According to this report, over the last several years, outpatient surgical centers have been saved Medicare more than $1 billion each year. This report was backed up by findings from a similar study conducted by researchers at the University of California.
