Changes Are Coming to Prevent Wrongly Connected Patient Tubing
Jim Burger of Outpatient Surgery Magazine reports on the problem of wrongly connected patient tubing in this recently published article. In it, Burger explains that it is not only possible, it’s actually easy to mistakenly connect a feeding tube to a tracheostomy tube or an intravenous tube to an epidural one. And this sort of mistake can prove deadly.
