Statin Therapy
As a class, adverse events associated with statin therapy are not common. Statins do not appear to raise cancer risk, but do result in a higher risk of diabetes, according to the results of a large study. Among individual statins, simvastatin and pravastatin seem safer and more tolerable than other statins, according to the study. The abstract can be found here.
